Seraphim Trio’s 2017 program takes you on a journey through time, in the agile and expressive vehicle of the piano trio. Join us as we move from the Viennese salon of Mozart, to the vivid folk imaginings of Dvorak, and the colour and majesty of Ravel. This journey, at the Independent Theatre in North Sydney, promises to be an adventure of sound, emotion and conversation, and a glorious celebration of human artistic achievement.

In our second concert we begin with Mozart’s trio in B flat K. 502, which rejoices in the rich classical voice of this emerging genre. From Mozart’s salon we travel to Czechoslovakia for Dvorak’s most popular folk tunes, embodied in his beloved ‘Dumky’ trio. Finally, we come to Ravel’s great trio, which remains even today, a wondrous modern incantation of sound and texture.
